David Brumley

David Brumley, MD, MBA is currently Vice President of Medical Affairs at Fallon Health in Worcester, Massachusetts. In his role with Fallon Health, Dr. Brumley is primarily responsible for overseeing pharmacy management, and serving as medical director for Clinical Integration. Dr. Brumley has previously served as Senior Medical Director for Tufts Health Plan, Senior Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, and Medical Director of Health Management at Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts.

Dr. Brumley earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Brumley completed his residency in Family Medicine also from the University of Missouri- Columbia as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from New Hampshire College.

He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Brumley is an active member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and currently sits on the editorial board for Population Health Management journal.

Mike Cantrell, RPh, Esq

Mike Cantrell is a registered pharmacist and licensed attorney. He is known for his broad view of the U.S. health care system and for successfully driving retail pharmacy performance. During his 30+ years in the industry, Mike has served in a number of executive leadership roles with Fortune 500 companies. He has expertise in pharmacy operations, managed care, regulatory oversight, pharmacy mail order and central fill operations, community pharmacy marketing and procurement, specialty pharmacy, and state and federal legislative affairs and government relations. Presently, Mike is Senior Operations Consultant, following his tenure as Senior Director of Regional Operations for Omnicell. He has Oversight of project management, quality assurance, product delivery, and functional monitoring, and customer support of the product portfolio. Before joining Omnicell, Mike served as the Senior Vice President Retail Health at Shopko, where he oversaw the functional areas of pharmacy, optical, and over-the-counter categories, taking pharmacy gross profit and immunization volumes to new highs.

Prior to Shopko, Mike was the Vice President of Pharmacy at Delhaize America, where he introduced a number of initiatives that consolidated and streamlined various compliance initiatives and propelled pharmacy gross profit to an all-time high. Before returning to the retail sector of pharmacy, Mike spent almost four years at AmerisourceBergen, where he held several executive positions: Group Vice President of Managed Networks, managing the largest PSAO in the country; Group Vice President of Business Development, overseeing the Good Neighbor Pharmacy franchise, consisting of approximately 3,700 pharmacies; and Vice President of Central Fill Business Development.

Mike spent the bulk of his career at Longs Drug Stores, which was acquired by CVS in 2008. At Longs, Mike held a number of positions, including Vice President Professional Services, ChiefPrivacy Official, and as a board member of Longs’ wholly owned PBM subsidiary, RxAmerica. He also spent five years as one of Longs’ corporate attorneys.

Lynn Deguzman, Pharm.D., BCGP

Dr. Lynn Deguzman received her BS Chemistry/Biology from St. Mary’s College of California and Pharm.D. from the University of California SF School of Pharmacy. She has served as the Clinical Operations Manager at Kaiser Permanente Northern California since 2011. She leads the Pharmacy Medicare Stars program which includes the Medicare Part D Medication Therapy Management, Medication Adherence, SUPD, Pharmacy New Member and Polypharmacy/ Deprescribing.

She has been an active PQA and AMCP member and is on PQA’s Quality Metric Expert Panel and AMCP’s MTM Advisory Board. She was identified as a Technical Expert for the Center for Medicare Services (CMS) Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Technical Expert Panel (TEP) Member group. She was invited as a subject member expert member for the Lown Institute’s Polypharmacy project. She has collaborated with the Institute Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to share her work in Polypharmacy and Deprescribing.

Matthew Dinh, Pharm.D

Dr. Dinh received his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Southern California. He started his career in community pharmacy, but quickly transitioned to managed care in a quality-driven path in various settings inclusive of a medical group, PBM, and health plan. He remains dedicated to improving quality and efficiency of healthcare, and hopes to continue growing collaboration with providers and optimizing clinical programs to ensure that SCAN members remain healthy and independent.

Dana Erf Fortman, MBA, is a Director of Pharmacy and Retail Operations at Walgreens where she leads the Health Equity Team and supports pharmacy services strategy. Dana has over 13 years of leadership experience as a business strategy expert, and has a passion for developing innovative approaches to address patient healthcare and improve health outcomes. Prior to joining Walgreens in 2016, Dana worked as a management consultant for Huron Consulting Group where she led strategy, finance, and operations engagements to optimize business efficiencies for Higher Education and Life Sciences clients. Dana holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BBA from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

Anna Hall is an experienced clinical pharmacist by training and a pioneer in building MTM programs and STAR Ratings/HEDIS measure improvement intervention programs for prominent national prescription plan sponsors. At Enhanced Medication Services, Anna oversees strategic partnerships, contracting of clinical services, and program compliance. Over the past 10 years she has worked to develop interactive training programs designed to teach technicians and pharmacists how to engage patients in medication therapy management and encourage adherence through the provision of multi-modal interventions and motivational interviewing. Anna serves in national roles for both PQA and AMCP to influence MTM innovation and consensus and contributes to the national strategy to improve effectiveness of MTM and quality improvement programs.

Dr. Derek McFerran is the Vice President of Clinical Performance and Affordability at Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA). At CCA, he is responsible for the oversight, design, and strategic vision of a robust, clinically informed, efficiently executed pharmacy program. This includes pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy, pharmacy-based quality measures, and state/federal regulatory pharmacy compliance.

Derek graduated from the University of Connecticut Pharmacy School with a Pharm D. He is board-certified in geriatrics, a fellow of the Academy Society of Consultant Pharmacists, AHIP certified health insurance executive and fellow, and participates on the editorial review board of the Consultant Pharmacist publication.

Gary Melis

Gary Melis is a Clinical Pharmacist for the past six years at Network Health, a local health insurance provider in Northeast and Southeast Wisconsin. He is currently one of two pharmacists involved making MTM calls in-house. His responsibilities also involve NCQA, pharmacy appeals, P&T Committee, Member and Provider relations. Gary's also has experience as pharmacy manager for a national long term care company, pharmacy manager for retail pharmacy chain, and Pharmacy Director for a National Health Care provider. He has also been a pharmacy instructor at local medical college family practice clinic.

Matthew P. Mitchell, PharmD, MBA, MHP, FAMCP is Executive Director of Pharmacy Services for SelectHealth, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr Mitchell oversees clinical programs, initiatives, pharmaceutical rebates and specialty network contracting in the management of over $1 Billion in pharmacy and medical injectable/infusible drug claims annually. He chairs the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, as well as several other high-level management strategy and operational committees. A few of his areas of expertise include specialty drug management, pharmacy benefit management, health-system pharmacy integration, outcomes research and operational effectiveness. He is actively involved in several professional societies and was recognized as a Fellow of AMCP in 2014. He has published numerous papers and sits on the editorial board for several peer-reviewed journals.

Hank Osowski, a Founding Member of Strategic Health Group, is an experienced health care executive and strategist who has provided leadership to commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans for more than 30 years. He currently is the Managing Director of Strategic Health Group, a new boutique strategic and financial advisory firm dedicated to bringing seasoned leadership to enable health care organizations to succeed in a challenging and changing environment. He is an expert in Medicare Advantage and Medicaid long-term care strategies.

Formerly, as Senior Vice President Corporate Development, he was a key member of the senior leadership team that the company from a near death experience to an exceptionally strong financial position. He led SCAN Group's efforts to expand into seven additional California counties. Hank also led SCAN's entry into Arizona and served as the initial President of SCAN Health Plan Arizona and SCAN Long Term Care. The service area expansions represent approximately a quarter of SCAN's membership and added nearly $450 million to SCAN's revenue. He also led the organization's strategic planning efforts and initiated an innovation development regimen to seek improvements in care coordination practices and future care outcome protocols.

Prior to SCAN, Hank served as a Principal in a national health care consulting organization providing a range of strategic, financial and development services for health plans, physician groups and hospitals. He began his California career as a member of the senior management team responsible for the turnaround and financial survival of Blue Cross of California. In this capacity, Hank led the financial turnaround of the Individual and Small Group Division and provided leadership to the organization's strategic planning efforts.

Earlier he served as Vice President International Operations for American Family Life Assurance Corporation where he directed the activities of the company's Canadian and European operations. In this role he directed the development of start-up operations in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, as well as the financial turnaround of the company's Canadian operations. Earlier, Hank also served as Director of Insurance Consulting Services for Coopers and Lybrand, a predecessor to PriceWaterhouse Coopers.

Throughout his career, he has been a frequent speaker on critical issues and challenges facing the Medicare and Medicaid programs. In 2011, Hank spoke to the Managed Medicaid Congress about principles for structuring effective long term care programs, to the Medicare Market Innovations conference about opportunities for strengthening a plan's five star quality rating and offered his strategic projections for the future of Medicare. He also spoke to a diverse health care and technology audience at the Healthcare Unbound conference about leveraging the power of technology to improve the quality of health outcomes and care interventions.

Chris Park, PharmD, APh, BCGP

Chris Park is the Pharmacy Care Management Manager at SCAN Health Plan. In this role, he is responsible for building, deploying, and leading clinical programs to provide medication management in high risk members. Prior to joining SCAN, Chris was lead clinical pharmacist at CareMore Health and was responsible for clinical program development and implementation. Chris began his career as a clinical pharmacist at Kaweah Delta Health Care District in Visalia, CA where he assisted with the development of a collaborative practice agreement that granted pharmacists prescriptive authority to collaboratively manage medication regimens of referred patients. Chris received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Thomas Jefferson University College of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, PA and completed a PGY1 Acute Care Residency at Kaweah Delta Health Care District in Visalia, CA. He is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist and licensed in California as an advanced practice pharmacist.

Sapna Patel, RPh

Ms. Patel is Director of Clinical Services at Mosaic Pharmacy Services, where she oversees the development and delivery of clinical services for patients based at home and in long-term care communities. Prior to Mosaic, Ms. Patel was Director of Clinical Services for Advanced Patient Care where she provided much-needed pharmacist driven care-coordination. Combining medication delivery and continued clinical follow up resulted in increased adherence and reduced hospital readmissions.

Prior to Advanced Patient Care, Ms. Patel was Executive Director of Progress Pharmacy, another long-term care pharmacy. She led a team of 10 pharmacists and 20 technicians that served 35 assisted living facilities and 6 skilled nursing facilities. Ms. Patel holds a Bachelor of Science from University of the Sciences.

Kelly Reidenbach

Kelly Reidenbach is Vice President of Strategy and Development at UnitedHealthcare Community & State. UnitedHealthcare Community & State proudly serves nearly 6.4 million Medicaid members in 31 states, plus Washington D.C. UnitedHealthcare is a division of UnitedHealth Group, a health and well- being company with a mission to help people live healthier lives and help make the health system work better for everyone.

In her role, Kelly focuses on developing and leading strategic initiatives centered on better serving the health and overall needs of members, state partners, and communities. Kelly has extensive experience in policy development and evaluation, growth and strategy operations, stakeholder relations, and research. She is focused on the development of strong and sustainable partnerships and ensuring care is responsive to individual needs.

Prior to her work with Community & State, Kelly held leadership and senior advisory roles in government. Kelly worked with both state legislative and executive leaders to enhance the health and human services infrastructure of the state. Throughout her tenure in public service, Kelly worked across multiple agencies and departments to develop and advance priority policy initiatives. Kelly holds a B.A. in Political Science from the Ohio State University.

Bryan Schuessler

He began his career in pharmacy operations where he honed his practice management skills before overseeing the home infusion and specialty pharmacy business lines at Saint Luke’s Health System. Bryan’s focus on operational efficiencies and commitment to patient care provide a valuable background for his role at Rx Savings in supporting health plan and employer clients. Bryan is a graduate of the University of Kansas.​

Annie Schuster, PharmD, FAMCP

Dr. Schuster has nearly 15 years of experience in the health care industry and currently oversees Cigna Medicare’s clinical pharmacy programs. Her team focuses on both formulary strategy as well as pharmacy quality improvement to deliver affordable, personalized and innovative solutions to members, health care providers, and clients. These programs are integrated with Cigna’s medical and behavioral health services and aim to improve members’ lives by focusing on optimal medication therapy and health outcomes. She is also the Residency Program Director for the Cigna PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy Residency Program.

Annie received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Renae Smith-Ray, PhD, MA

Renae Smith-Ray, PhD, MA, is a research investigator and manager of Health Analytics, Research, and Reporting at the Walgreens Center for Health and Wellbeing Research at Walgreen Co where she conducts research on digital health programs, health promotion, disease management, immunizations, and implementation science. Dr. Smith-Ray has been working in health outcomes research for over 20 years. Prior to joining Walgreens in 2016, Dr. Smith-Ray worked as a Research Scientist for the Institute for Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she received funding from the National Institutes of Health and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, among others, to study the impact of cognition on falls among older adults and the impact of physical activity and diet on osteoarthritis self-management. Dr. Smith-Ray’s areas of expertise include fall prevention, cognitive health, health promotion among health disparity populations, physical activity promotion, behavior change, and dissemination and implementation science.

Dr. Smith-Ray is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and is a Scientific Board Member for the Midwest Roybal Center for Health Promotion and Translation. Dr. Smith-Ray holds a PhD in Gerontological Public Health from the University of Illinois School of Public Health, a MA in Neuropsychology from the University of Northern Colorado, and a BS in Psychology from Illinois State University.
